So the Orchard to Isaacs Canyon project on I-84 got yanked from the GARVEE bonding bill because the Boise district's legislators are Democrats and a Republican Senator admits it on the Senate floor. You'd think that would be big news, right? Well you'd be wrong.
Every Treasure Valley broadcast network's website carries stories of the defeat of the GARVEE bill but none carries a word about the stunning admission of political retribution being played out in the Idaho Legislature.
KTRV and KTVB include in their stories a mention of "political reasons" for the bill's defeat which led to the legislature being in session for at least one more day. Neither mentions what any of those political reasons were—one of which was the admission from Sen. Dean Cameron (R-Rupert) that a project was removed because the district's legislators were from the wrong political party.
"Eyewitness News," "Today's News," "Newschannel," "News at Nine" — they're all just slogans folks...but you probably already knew that.
I didn't see anything in the local daily either

Yeah, I didn't see it in the Statesman either. The Idaho Press-Tribune has three versions of the story online; one by Shannon Dininny does give it a mention.

Times-News also has the Dininny article; it's from the AP.

Wouldn't want those pesky democrats to have a nice new interstate running through their district. Wow, how childish. Politics the more you pay attention the more one wants to jump in a shower and clean up.

Maybe with some disinfectant.

According to Popkey, KTVB is owned by a person who is a frequent contributor to Idaho GOP candidates. I can't link to it, but my recollection was that Popkey was implying that KTVB tilts right. That might be a reason KTVB didn't mention it; I don't know what's up with the others.
The Statesman had a pretty lengthy article discussing the politics around deleting the funding for the project "in Elliot's back yard."
Since Denny is in the Hammer mode, perhaps the local TV stations are just afraid.
