[Editor's note: This post will remain on top for the next few days.]
In an effort to continue monitoring and exposing the inflammatory speech coming out of the Magic Valley on KBAR radio and the mouth of shock jock Zeb Bell of Murtaugh, today the editors of The MountainGoat Report and The Political Game are launching a Zeb Bell page. The page is a work-in-progress and the result of a combined several-month's effort recording, collecting and compiling information from Bell and his radio program "Zeb at the Ranch" and can be found in the navigation tabs at the top of this blog.
The page currently includes:
- A list of frequent guests and links to information on them;
- Information on the program, including call-in numbers;
- A brief history of Zeb, contact info and links to his website;
- Links to blog posts written on or related to Zeb;
- Links to print and television media reports and articles;
- Quotes from Zeb and listeners recorded and compiled from June, 2008 to the present.
This page will continue to be maintained and updated with new information regularly and will hopefully provide a resource for others as we attempt to raise the level of discourse beyond bigoted and inflammatory and toward more civil and humane debate.
This is not something that can be accomplished by just a handful of people. It will require the commitment and involvement of every Idahoan who believes that a society is strengthened by the diversity in it and that each person deserves to be valued and respected.
Please join us in this effort. Use this new page as a resource; listen, call in or write letters and contact either editor with additional information or ideas.

Too bad bloggers don't qualify for the Pulitzer for Meritorious Public Service. This page is an incredible and much-needed resource. Thanks for all you've done (and will continue to do).

You are onto something big, Citizen Julie!
The blog equivalent (well not exactly equivalent, but close) to the Pulitzer is the Blogger's Choice Award (http://bloggerschoiceawards.com/). Nominating a site is an excellent way to increase traffic and readership. There are a variety of award categories, ranging from best animal blog to best political blog. Unfortunately, what MGR and PG are creating would probably best fall into a category such as "Best Civil Rights Watchdog Blog," and the category doesn't yet exist. But by making nominations, maybe we can create it.
I believe that once the site is nominated, MGR and PG can link a vote button to the site, which again, will increase traffic and readership tremendously. I'll investigate some more and report back...

I don't think Tara would mind that I say from the both of us that we really appreciate the nice comments. Exposure is really the only solution to something like "Bell's Bigots" and that's what we're hoping to accomplish with the Zeb page.
And Kitt, thanks for the link to the C&L post.
