Ah, what a difference a couple of days makes. On Friday, the Idaho Statesman reported that Congressman Bill Sali signed a letter to U.S. government financial officials stating that "...we urge you in the strongest terms possible to refrain from conducting any additional government-financed bailouts for large financial firms," getting scolded by Congressman Mike Simpson for his obstinance.
Today, we get this from local CBS affiliate KBCI asking if Congressman Sali still opposes any kind of bailout:
"What he's saying now is he's keeping an open mind about it," said Sali spokesman Wayne Hoffman. "But he's very concerned about the scope and magnitude of this proposal."
Apparently the "strongest terms possible" weren't all that strong after all. Isn't that sort of like Sali was against the bailout before he was . . . oh never mind.
