Gov. Anibal Acevedo Vila said Saturday that the U.S. administration has “no new strategy and no signs of success” and that prolonging the war would needlessly put guardsmen in harm’s way. ... Col. David Carrion Baralt, the Guard’s top official in Puerto Rico, said Acevedo received a standing ovation.
Since when did the military decide to lock up veterans? From the Marine Corps Times:
For daring to report illegal arms sales, Navy veteran Donald Vance says he was imprisoned by the American military in a security compound outside Baghdad and subjected to harsh interrogation methods.
Nothing to see here...nothing at all...just move along. From the Army Times:
Some veterans organizations, soldiers’ relatives and psychiatrists are raising questions about an Army report that says no direction connection has been found between long troop deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and the army’s highest suicide rate since the first Gulf War.
And last but not least, Gonzo is finally gonzo. From CBS news:
Because we all benefit from a Justice Department that is fair, impartial, nonpartisan and filled with the best and brightest legal professionals the nation has to offer, we all suffer when it falls short of those ideals.
