So you live in Canyon County and heard that fire truck, lights and sirens on, screaming down Highway 45 at 12:30 last night. Dispatched to some accident? A house on fire, some medical emergency perhaps?
Nope, the guy was a volunteer with an Owyhee County fire department and took the department's fire truck out for a joy ride—a drunken joy ride—that led into Nampa and then ended up at Highway 45 and Stagecoach Road in a traffic stop. The Idaho Statesman has the story.
A large green fire truck with it’s lights and sirens on was spotted by Canyon County Sheriff’s deputies driving northbound on Idaho 45 near Locust Lane around 12:30 a.m. this morning. Canyon County dispatchers told the deputies they did not know what fire the truck was responding to as there were no calls for a fire in the area. [...]
Deputies are still trying to figure out how Goering, who is a volunteer with the Murphy Reynolds Wilson Volunteer Fire Department but not currently active, got access to the truck.
I have to think this tops the Boise Zamboni guys.
Dude, more carbs—less Jack...or was it Coors?
